神来无影疾如风;

Steve,

Yes, it’s beautiful. I think it’s not far from the United States Military Academy at West Point. I believe your previous home is to the north of West Point.

I drove from NYC to West Point several times. It was fascinating to drive along the Hudson River!

Oh, yes. We were probably 20 miles northeast of West Point, roughly a half-hour drive away. This previous post has some links to some beautiful images of the West Point campus ...

Steve,

Thanks for the information. Yes, Round Rock is a nice area to live. It is also one the safest cities in the U.S. It ranked No. 19 in this year’s survey. Meanwhile, Round Rock has one of the best school districts in the Austin metropolitan area. Last year, we moved to a new home near Lake Travis and rent out our house in Round Rock. It’s rather difficult to sell out the house due to the current market situation.

Our new home is in an even more beautiful area. One of my friends says our neighborhood seems to be in a city of a Mediterranean country, e.g., Sarajevo. It reminds me of an old movie I saw in 1970s - 瓦尔特保卫萨拉热窝.

Yueyin,

Congratulations on your new home. That area is a wonderful place to live. You must be close to Lakeway if not right inside it. The real estate in that area is gorgeous, not to mention very exclusive.

I looked at Lakeway when I first moved to Austin. But it was too long a commute to work. At the time I also didn't want to break the bank.

Steve,

Thank you! Our new home is just in the east of #620 and less than 5 miles to Lakeway. This area is also growing very fast. When I go back to Austin, please come to visit.

Thanks, Yueyin.

You got some spectacular homes around Lake Travis. Austin's beautiful Hill Country is one of the reasons this area is such an attraction.

West Point Jul 2, 2009

Yueyin,

Just looked at a map online. You were right, The town where I lived was due north of West Point, only about 12 miles away. West Point is on the west shore of the Hudson River, while Wappingers Falls is on the east side. Thus I had the impression my town was in a northeasterly direction. The Hudson River actually bends around at that section, so it is indeed due north.
