I am a full-time freelance translator. I have been translating since January 2003.

I have an MA degree in Economics and a Translator Certificate from the Romanian Ministry of Culture. I also have a Certificate of Proficiency in English from Cambridge University to attest my English skills.

My localization experience is extensive, spanning ten years, and includes the localization of Yahoo! as lead linguist, work on Google/ YouTube projects, and current work as the lead linguist for Sony PlayStation and Zendesk.

Due to market demand I have become highly specialized in the medical field (both Pharmaceutical/QRD/Clinical Trials and Medical Devices), having translated multiple Product Information, Protocols, ICFs and IFUs for over 10 years of my overall translation experience of 15 years. Medical translation accounts for approx. 50% of my workload.

By profession I am actually an economist and I have also successfully completed many financial and business translation jobs over the years; e.g., after translating their investment prospectuses and KIIDs, I am the lead translator for NN IP Romania periodical publications MarketExpress and MarketScope, as well as other occasional publications. Business and financial translation accounts for approx. 30% of my workload.

I do work in other areas as the occasion arises, e.g. I am currently a part of the translator team for the EU Parliament video news releases and I have done ample EU work, including editing of the latest Cohesion Report.

Here are some of the recent projects I worked on as translator/proofreader:

* Medical/Pharmaceutical – QRD, Regulatory, and Pharmacovigilance

- EMA QRD (SPCs, PILs, Labelling) and related documentation such as DHCP letters, Annex A, Annex C, Annex IV, HCP and Patient Guides (educational materials), orphan application translation/review, etc. for various pharmaceutical products: 400,000+ words to date (mostly EN-RO, but also RO-EN, FR-RO, and ES-RO)

Projects included both centralized and decentralized (mutual recognition) procedure projects involving translation and review (from scratch and tracked changes updates), feedback on Member State response, independent 3rd party review of end-client changes to QRD translation, work on both original patented medicinal products and generics, etc.

Examples of medicinal products that I have worked on lately (September through October 2020) include: Orifil, Deltyba, Rxulti, Favipiravir Tablets (BDR Pharmaceuticals), Quetiapine (SunPharma), Sugammadex Terapia, etc.

- Regulatory materials such as EC and RA letters, EC Opinions, Clinical Trial Applications, Authorizations of Clinical Trials by the relevant RAs, Manager Approvals for study conduct, etc. – 50.000+ words/ EN-RO and RO-EN, with end clients such as PPD Romania, PRA Romania, Worldwide Clinical Trials, and others.

- Pharmacovigilance case studies by Romanian HCPs and Romanian patient reports; also register study surveys (relatively new line of work, 15.000 words during Sep to Nov 2020, mostly RO-EN but also EN-RO)
