The most recent example of Digital Storytelling is Pokémon GO, did you know that?

This not about how much work you have in the present, but how much work you will have in the future.

«Summarizing the work of several researchers in this field, Brown, Bryan and Brown labeled these multiple skills that are aligned with technology as “Twenty-First Century Literacy,” which they described as the combination of:

Digital Literacy - the ability to communicate with an ever-expanding community to discuss issues, gather information, and seek help;

Global Literacy - the capacity to read, interpret, respond, and contextualize messages from a global perspective;

Visual Literacy - the ability to understand, produce, and communicate through visual images;

Technology Literacy - the ability to use computers and other technology to improve learning, productivity, and performance
;

Information Literacy - the ability to find, evaluate and synthesize information.

But there is something I am sure of: any content that needs translating is an opportunity for a translator.

Storytelling software Jul 17, 2017

At the start of the year, I contacted a translation agency on the East Coast (USA). One of their requirements was knowledge of a storyboard (or storytelling) software package. I didn't end up in their rooster because I had no idea of the software.

Storytelling seems to be a relatively new niche for (cough) “content”. I'd like to call it multimodal material or audiovisual material instead of the vague and foggy “content.” Same goes for other English words that are highly popular but offer empty, um, content, such as “to hack [something]”.

I found the following list of storytelling software for those interested: https://colorlib.com/wp/storytelling-tools/

Obviously, there are many more, some are open-source software, some are cloud-based, etc.

If it appeals to you, I guess it's OK. Personally, I don't see the fun in it. And it could hardly pay very well. I'll stick with my day job, thank you.

never heard of it. I suppose it might cross my path at some point, but then, I don't have time for urgent admin let alone researching some hypothetical possible source of work
