Creado en 1991 por la Ley provincial Nro. 10.757, el Colegio de Traductores de la Pcia. de Santa Fe 2da. Circunscripción es una institución sin fines de lucro, cuyo fin es proteger el ejercicio legal de esta profesión.
Si bien es una institución joven, la lucha por obtener una ley que amparase al traductor comenzó mucho antes. En 1982 aproximadamente, un grupo de colegas un tanto idealistas y con una convicción muy fuerte, formaron la Asociación de Traductores, con el sólo fin de que estos profesionales tuviesen un espacio donde volcar inquietudes y unificar criterios. Tomó prácticamente 10 años conseguir el instrumento legal con el que hoy contamos.
Dicha ley proclama que toda traducción, ya sea técnico-científica, literaria o pública, debe ser realizada por un traductor matriculado en este Colegio y contar con la certificación del mismo. Esto garantiza al cliente que el trabajo será realizado por un profesional competente, reconocido y amparado por este Colegio.
