ProZ.com powwow: Take Time for Translators & Interpreters

October 6, 2019, 7:00 pm
AustraliaBrisbane, QueenslandIn personEnglish
ASLIA Queensland and AUSIT are co-hosting a morning of relaxing activities at New Farm Park for Interpreters and Translators of all languages to take some much needed time out and enjoy the company of colleagues.

As interpreters we are exposed to an array of stressful situations day in and day out and more often than not we don’t allow ourselves the time to reflect and take care of ourselves. Interpreters in particular are exposed to vicarious trauma which can have severe and ongoing effects on mental health. For those working as translators, other pressures are part of the day-to-day working life, such as tight deadlines, loneliness and the physical impact of sitting at a desk all day.

This event is hosted as an opportunity to get together as fellow colleagues and "take time" to care for our mental health.
