Excel tag editor?

I am translating csv Excel files and it is taking a very long time. Is there any programme other than the TRADOS tag editor that I could use?

Have you tried Wordfast?

I don't know if it is specifically able to handle your CSV format, but it certainly can be used to translate Excel files (though if the spreadsheet has complex formatting, it can sometimes be a bit of a pain!)

I use SDLX, Trados Clipboard Editor and WordFast classic for big volume jobs.

Thanks, but TRADOS isn't an option for me at the moment- are there any opensource alternatives for translating csv files available?

...the demo version is fully-functional, though limited to 500 TUs — don't know if that's enough for your large doc?

Have you analysed your doc to find out just how many repeats there are? You could do that with W/F, and that might at least give you an idea if the 500 TU limit is going to pose a problem or not.

Wordfast demo version Mar 17, 2012

I tried to go to the link to get the demo version, and only this appears... http://www.wordfast.net/?whichpage=demo&lang=engb

Any other part of the site just leads me to the payment part, through which I have to go through a payment server for the full version.

Any ideas?

I didn't have any trouble getting to this download page:

where all you have to do is click on the download button and it should work
