Which CAT tools can re-segment SDLXLIFF files during import? E.g. TUs that contain more than one sentence?
I know about Déjà Vu X2's latest build:
>Support for re-segmenting XLIFF files during import
I didn't test it though ...
Swordfish can re-segment TTX files:
>Swordfish has built-in capabilities for segmenting TTX files.
I'm not sure about SDLXLIFF files though.
So my question is:
Besides Déjà Vu X2, which CAT tools can optimise segmentation of SDLXLIFF projects in such a way that the normal sentence boundaries are respected?
Hans
PS Dominique, perhaps a nice Vlog subject? ▲ Collapse

All tools that support XML

All tools that support XML. TTX/SDLXLIFF is nothing more than an advanced form of XML.

Do you mean before or after it was translated? Re-segmenting a bilingual file that has been translated would be a neat trick (i.e. if both source and target segments contain more than one sentence, but contain the same number of sentences, then it splits it into two segments of one sentence each). There are TM editors that can do that (for the moment I can think only of the posegment tool in the Translate Toolkit suite).
If you mean before they are translated, then what do you mean exactly?

Informative

It *is* an informative response. I wrote my own XML filters in MemoQ to do just that. I import TTX as XML and unleash my own segmentation filters on them. It works like a charm.
