Zdaję sobie sprawę, że Anglosasi nie używają takich określeń w stosunku do miast, ale my, znaczy Polacy, lubimy tytuły i patos. Ustal z klientem, czy tłumaczyć dosłownie, żeby czytelnicy mieli pojęcie, jak się u nas mawia, czy tłumaczyć nie dosłownie, lecz wtedy zgubisz lokalny styl wypowiadania się.

Asker: Nie do mnie jest skierowane pytanie, ale pozwolę sobie zacytować zdanie z Watching the English - Seriousness is acceptable, solemnity is prohibited. Sincerity is allowed, earnestness is strictly forbidden. Pomposity and self-importance are outlawed. Niestety jako naród lubimy patos. I tu zanczynają się schody z tłumaczeniem.
