Sorry, but I don't think your suggestion is an "exact" term. The answer provided by Allegro Trans is a better choice, even though it is not the "official" term. It also gives an option for "colectividades" out of this specific context.

As a suggestion to your last comment, I'd like to simply offer "Industrial Feeding/Catering Equipment". Have you heard of "Hostelco" or "Alimentaria", 2 of the major industrial feeding/catering exhibitions in Europe, held at Montjuich in Barcelona every 2 years? There you'll see this term often used as the translation for the section on "Equipos para Colectividades".

Apart from that, I think it's a good idea to come up with a Spanish equivalent for this term, I am sure this won't be the last time a translator will have to deal with it.

Well, that puts a completely new light on it! I wish you'd provided context earlier. The official English name of the exhibition refers to "community equipment", but I don't think that's a very good translation. However, the first page of its website (http://www.hostelco.com) says it has "the biggest range of stands featuring the latest innovations in equipment, products and services for the hospitality, restaurant and *group catering* sector, which is close to Margaret's answer.
Why do you have to translate this anyway, if it already has an official English title?

I'm sorry I forgot to include context, but I think I am quite sure about the meaning of the word (yes, it also includes companies, events, etc.).
Context:
"Salón internacional del equipamiento para la restauración, hostelería y colectividades"

(It's an exhibition where they show equipment for hotels, restaurants and "colectividades")
