"core subject" es "asignature común"

Aunque hay muchos "hits" con "matemáticas comunes", no me convece. Muchas veces antecede "fuinciones"

Se refiere, por supuesto, a la(s) asignatura(s) de matemáticas que son comunes para todos los estudiantes en cierta especialidad, normalmente no relacionada con las matemáticas.
