Une lésène est une bande verticale de faible relief pratiquée dans l'épaisseur d'un mur extérieur, formant de par une ombre projetée, une décoration d'allure variable. Forme en arc formant un croissant dont les extrémités sont moins épaisses que celle de la clé, se dit également dans l'art roman bande lombarde.
