"Abbreviated notes to financial statements" is a different concept completely, but as you have stated this is accounting and not legal, this must be it.

  -> My mistake - I should have stated that the annual abridged report refers to the other contents. However, I am sure you'll agree that to post "abbreviated notes to financial statements" would not be correct in this context.
