Estoy traduciendo un texto sobre buques oceanográficos. En él se habla de ajustar los reguladores por el método de Ziegler-Nichols. Y concretamente habla de dos maneras de hacerlo. En una de esas maneras aparece este término. Dos ejemplos en los que aparece:

Para esto se pone el regulador en modo manual y se selecciona un valor de consigna de velocidad inducido por el buque pequeño...

Si el sistema no alcanza la velocidad nominal del cable, se selecciona un valor mayor de consigna de entrada y esperar a que estabilice.

Ziegler–Nichols
This procedure was first described in a paper published in 1942—credit to Ziegler and Nichols for coming up with a tuning method that has survived almost 75 years of overwhelming technological development. The process starts with a proportional-gain-only system. You increase the P gain until the system exhibits oscillations that are sustained (i.e., stable in terms of amplitude) and regular (i.e., stable in terms of period); the oscillation does not need to be centered around the setpoint.   -> I wasn't going to answer but when I saw 'consignment' with a CL of 5, I decided to take matters into my own hands! I've only ever heard 'consignment' used when referring to transport and I was interested to know if it was right. Thank you, Gallagy :-)
