I'm having trouble with the latter part of a clause in a Costa Rican lease agreement:
"queda expresamente prohibido al ARRENDATARIO subarrendar el inmueble arrendado, en parte o en su totalidad, así como ceder los derechos que le otorga este contrato."

I'm not sure whether the phrase in question is saying that they are also not allowed to cede (transfer over) any rights granted by this contract or if it is saying that subletting any part of the property will result in the tenant ceding the rights granted by this contract.

My attempt for now: it is expressly prohibited for the TENANT to sublet the leased property, in whole or in part, as well as transferring the rights granted by this contract.

"assign" seems to be the usual translation of "ceder".
And your use of the gerund at the end (transferring....) is incorrect.
It is linked with "It is prohibited to...", so you could use the base form or the infinitive. I think either one would work.

I understand it as meaning that the tenant is not allowed to transfer rights to anybody else (in addition to not being allowed to sublet the property).
