Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law: Taxation & Customs
Spanish term or phrase: glosador
From a list of positions related to customs clearance in a Mexican freight forwarder company:

"Documentador de Importación y Exportación, Glosador, Tramitador..."

No further context, I'm afraid, but from what I've found it appears to involve duties like reviewing and approving the information contained on customs entry forms, bills of lading, etc. Any suggestions for a US English equivalent would be most welcome.

reviewer/examiner

Explanation:
From the context and your description, it appears to be someone that examines the paperwork and documents and is involved in approving them before the processor inputs or records the documentation.

Marina Orellana's Glosario internacional del traductor is a great source. Good find, Wilsonn Mike :)

compiler

Explanation:
Not entirely sure about this, though I'm seeing references to "glosador" with "clasificador", which appears to be similar to the "compiler/classifier" position in English, albeit Australian usage. No idea if this is relevant to Canada.

However, the skill set required for this job appears to be quite a bit broader (I have highlighted the relevant parts that might match the job description above, which is clearly much more specific than the following one):

COMPILER/CLASSIFIER SKILL SET (NATIONAL CODE TLISS00072)
There are a total of 8 study units in the Skill Set. Each of these units is specified for its unique contribution to the role of the Compiler/Classifier. The units are:

agree  Charles Davis: I doubt there's a closer equivalent, but this does seem to be Australian. The US equivalent could be "classification specialist", but I'm not sure. Handling classification is the core of the job, I'm sure (v. complex and crucial task).

-> Thanks, Charles, yes, I'm not sure how much ordinary dictionary definitions can be relied on here. I found a few Mexican ones that are completely irrelevant. I think this would be an OK translation, even if it is perhaps region-specific.

neutral  Charles Davis: As I said before, OK for general business (in countries where it's used), but we need a reliable source showing that the person who performs the functions of a glosador is called an auditor in EN. A customs auditor, afaik, is a customs service official.

neutral  Robert Carter: Agree with Charles here, the references I found show that "customs auditor" relates to a position with the customs service, not with a private company.

checker

Explanation:
"Document checker" is a term used in several areas, so it might work for this at a pinch...
Another option could be "release clerk":
