pettinatura a sella

I found respectively: 'horn headdress', 'escoffion', '?'.

the text is a description of hairstyles and clothes from the Renaissance onward, inspired by Italian paintings and frescoes, and reproduced in Italian films by a famous costume designer.

is there anyone competent in this field that I can consult with?
*even more important, could you suggest a very good Italian-English(-French) fashion dictionary or multilingual encyclopedia?*

thank you so much.

NB I'm setting this question for professional translators but in fact bilingual persons with a specific knowledge in this field are welcome.

Explanation:

After 1400, tall, outlandish headdresses came into fashion, most of which hid the hair entirely. Some of those worn were the reticulated (netted) headdress, the heart-shaped headdress (incorrectly called an escoffion) and the famous hennin

These ladies wear heart-shaped reticulated headdresses. These were created using two large cauls on either side of the head. A bourrelet (A sausage-shaped cushion with wire inside that could be bent into a shape) was placed on top of the cauls. The internal structure of the bourrelet held it in the shape that you see here

Christine de Pisan presents her book to Queen Isabeau of France. She and her ladies wear jewelled heart-shaped stuffed or hollow "bourrelets" on top of hair dressed in horns. Christine wears a divided hennin covered in white cloth.

Ciao! No, non me ne intendo ma l'argomento storico mi intrigava e ho speso un bel po' di tempo in ricerche. Secondo me puoi trovare le risposte ai link indicati. Avevo consultato altri link interessanti ma purtroppo non me li ritrovo ora. Comunque c'è diverso materiale consultabile in rete.

Asker: grazie mille! vedo che te ne intendi! non so se posso tornare su questo all'interno di questo thread, ma saresti d'accordo che l'acconciatura a rete corrisponda all'escoffion? e a questo punto le corna alla francese diventano horn headdress? (altrimenti apro delle nuove domande). thanks again.
