ciencias para la discusión

I am aware of the difficulty posed by the original expression. I understand it as key sciences (not just subject matters but sciences, as political science, philosophical science, etc.) that help develop argumentative skills -ciencias de/para la discusión- and not so much as sciences that allow for argumentation -ciencias debatibles/argumentables. As such I feel that the original might well be understood as a specific approach to what is generally known as communication studies. More so when pedagogy/education is brought into the equation. I have also thought of sciences of discourse or something along that line, although it seems to take us some way off the original focus. Discoursive sciences, as neilmac suggests, might also work, although I feel this expression might convey the idea of argumentables more so than para la argumentación / para la discusión (para facilitar herramientas o habilidades argumentativas, que es como entiendo el original).
Obviously enough the original context should help understand what is meant by ciencias de/para la discusión. And you English natives will surely help me clear the nuances involved -and my own doubts ;)
