Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / Pathology
Spanish term or phrase: CLD
The following appears in the description for a pathology report for a prostate core biopsy:

...

I am assuming that in this labelling "C" refers to the central zone, but am unclear whether the "LD" refers to "right lobe" or "right lateral".

Can anyone advise me on this?

Cheers,
John

CLD (Central Lóbulo/Lateral Derecho)
Right Lateral Base

Explanation:
"The 12 core biopsy shown on the right hand panel is the preferred scheme and it is a sextant with lateral scheme. There are 6 specimens obtained from the right and left libi --- labeled as shown above."

https://silo.tips/download/professional-oncology-education-p...

1) Right Lateral Base
4) Right Medial Base
7) Left Medial Base
10) Left Lateral Base

https://silo.tips/download/deteccion-del-cancer-de-prostata-...

C: Zona central P: Zona periférica T: Zona de transición

Figura 1.

Example sentence(s):

neutral  Chema Nieto Castañón: Hi liz, the problem here is to differentiate CLD from LD. It seems like a dead end to read CLD as cara lateral derecha as there is no reasonable way then to read LD -is "base derecha" what you suggest for LD when you mention that base and sides are diff.?

Medial right
