Aviel Cahn arbeitet in Genf weiter mit Nachdruck an seinem Opernprojekt. Anfang März, nach Premieren von Lydia Steier und Luk Perceval, war Jossi Wieler mit Giacomo Meyerbeers „Les Huguenots“ dran, von Marc Minkowski dirigiert, einem fünfstündigen Monsterwerk, das im 19. Jahrhundert ein Renner gewesen war. Es geht um die „Nuit Bartholomée“, in der viele französische Protestanten nach Genf flohen, die aber die Oper aus dem 19. Jahrhundert nicht infiziert hat. Ein Abgrund, den auch Wieler mit seiner Inszenierung nicht zu überschreiten imstande ist. Wie schwierig solche Aufführungen dann doch im Einzelnen sind.
