  -> Je suis d'accord - c'est pourquoi j'ai mis "religieuse" entre parenthèses! Toutes les écoles anglaises sont plus au moins religieuses, la "community school" de mes filles beaucoup moins que l'école C of E voisine! "Liée" ou "sous la tutelle" donc...

neutral  Tony M: I agree with Thomas: not actually a 'religious school', as e.g. a seminary might be. / Misleading to say they are 'religious' at all! 'Religious education' is just one subject that is taught. CofE schools are no more religious than the others.

  -> Not misleading! I think it’s more a case of all schools in England being religious to an extent (especially at primary level), therefore the “religious” aspect is implicit. “école primaire liée à l'église anglicane” is probably the best translation here.
disagree  B D Finch: There is a difference between the Anglican Church and the C of E. Agree partially with Tony's crit, but CofE schools are a bit more religious than others. The one I did teaching practice in certainly did have a link with the local church and its vicar.

agree  Adrian MM.: Just take out religieuse (not the cake). There is more in common between the Anglican Church & CofE than with my Irish-run Roman Catholic primary school in South London. NB an Anglican reverend I know: CofE is part of the *Anglican Communion* world-wide.

S'il s'agit du nom de l'école, elle ne devrait pas se traduire, sauf si elle a une traduction officielle qui émane de l'école. Puisque j'ignore si une telle traduction officielle existe, je laisserais donc le nom en apposition avec une traduction de courtoisie entre ( ).
