Law/Patents - Law: Taxation & Customs / Mexican Tax System
Spanish term or phrase: folio fiscal
Hi all!

I have a Mexican pay stub that I'm editing for a translation from Mexican Spanish into US English, and was given a translation memory that suggests "Fiscal Folio" and "Universally Unique Identifier" for the above line item. I don't feel that either of these are good translations, but I'm fine with being wrong.

Are either of these correct or is there a better term?

For context, the other line items are CURP, RFC, IMSS, et al., the typical Mexican tax and labor-related line items.

Thanks!

'folio' number for tax purposes

Explanation:
The term is so commonly used in dealing with billing and taxation in certain countries that my EDI client simply refers to it as "folio number/folio", although it does indeed refer to the UUID, the same acronym that appears in their instructional material.

"Please contact us by email for requests about your refund: [email protected]. Please include your full name, passport number and folio number. MEXICO."

The definition in the link below specifically refers to use of the term in the investment/mutual funds area, but in my experience it is not limited to this sphere.
