ظل سر شامية المجنونة، أو شمعة بنت سالم بكران لغزا يحيرني منذ طفولتي وحتى أصبحت رجلا. كنت أعلم أن حل ذلك اللغز لدى "كريمة الوردي". عمتي كريمة أسميتها كريمة الوردي نسبة إلى عالم الاجتماع العراقي "علي الوردي"، فهي تحفظ الأحداث وترويها بطريقة تسلبك حواسك فتقعد منصتا لما تقول كصنم. تحفظ التاريخ ولا تنسى كبيرة ولا صغيرة، كانت مرجعا مهما لأحداث الزاهية والقرى المجاورة لها. لا تكتفي كريمة الفضي بسرد الروايات والأحداث، بل تحلل وتستنج، وتستقرئ ما سيحدث، وقد حدث بالفعل الكثير مما استقرأته كريمة الوردي.
