This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but I am putting it forward since "channel maker" seems to be a software tool for producing web channels like PPStream, Sopcast, PPLive, etc (as shown in the link provided above) or an agricultural tool for making irrigation ditches/canals, though it may have another meaning I am not aware of.
