I have never seen G before, the text mostly has millions of Euros, but there are a few G€

Explanation:
I'd say it must be the American billion, which is pretty much universally accepted in British English nowadays. The G is from Giga:

giga-

METROL Forma prefixada del mot grec gígas, que significa 'gegant' i que, seguida d'una unitat, equival a multiplicar-la pel factor 10 (9) [that's written as 10 to the power of 9 in the original, but I can't do superscript here]

Note it is the same giga you find in Gigabyte.

If you know what region it is, you should be able to check from another source whether this interpretation is correct.

Not sure whether GNP/PNB is technically incorrect for a region (as the "N" stands for National).

My flatmate is Flemish, and she says they don't have the sense of nationhood felt in Catalonia. But it's a general point anyway as to whether one can talk about GNP when referring to a region. ie, to get away from the nationalist issue, can one talk about the GNP of Yorkshire (of course, most people no longer know what Yorkshire is any more (ie including Middlesborough, Barnoldswick etc.., but that's opening up a completely different can of worms).

My text referred always to PIB, except for 2 cases of PNB, so I think it's teh author's error, as teh region in Q is Baden-Württenberg. The GIGA doesn't work, it's simply too huge a sum, and no hits in Google, so I think it's another error, thanks for your help:-)
