El 8 de març del 1912 l’Institut de Ciències va acordar demanar a Manuel de Chia i Bajandas (Girona, 1856 - Barcelona 1917) que presentés una monografia completa dels venèrids, en la qual ***es desenvolupés amb extensió el gènere de les tapes***

Venerids from around the British Isles (by Jan Light).

Top: Venerupis senegalensis (=pullastra)
Middle: Tapes rhomboides
Bottom: Tapes aureus

Note: pink flush in interior umbone of rhomboides - diagnostic
Note: golden flush in aureus (but sometimes present in senegalensis)
Note: dark brownish purple on interior of senegalensis but not present in pale coloured individuals.
Note similarities in outline to the untrained eye. Also once you get to know the species you recognise colour combinations and patterns not seen in the other 2.

I guess "genus Tapes" is the key here. The other part I suppose you can lay around with to come up with a wording that satisfies yo!
