agree  amyella: I think the difference is very subtle in English but you might want to say "undervalues and underestimates"

agree  Berni Armstrong: Another possibility could be "disparages and undervalues", since "menysprea" usually implies a more scornful attitude. I wouldn't use "underestimate" because (in this context) that implies women have hidden strengths. Machoism does not accept that.

Explanation:
I am a native Catalan speaker and I have used both terms before. They are words used in educated contexts but quite common, so I am sure of their translation. They are quite similar in meaning, but I believe that these would be the most appropriate terms to translate to.
