Hello co-workers. I will need your assistance. I am working on a translation of a contract from English into Spanish, but I have this name followd by "notary Public", and I really need to know if this name is female or male, in order to translate what follows as appropriate.
Any help will be very much appreciated

Reference: Male or female

Reference information:
Hi, there is no telling of male or female simply from a name. Unless the name of the person is well known, then we can guess who he/she is. Actually many females have masculine names in China.

In that case, maybe you need to ask the client to let you know exactly.

Asker: Thanks Kathy. Then I guess it will be difficult to determine. If I have "Notary Public" I don't know if I should translate "Escribano or Escribana" (in Spanish we have endings in "a" if it's female, and endings in "o" if it's male. That is why I was trying to determine if this person is a she or a he. .. what a problem!!
