Hi Odile, The source text in Chinese does not have the word "consider", but in human circumstances there must be some party involved that compares between the creation expenses with the joint production budget. He/she would then "consider" that creation expense more important than the joint production budget.
Also, who can read the joint production budget in a normal business venture? It must be either Party X or Party Y because they're in a joint venture. No one else as the budget must be a commercial secret, hence they use this clause to prevent either party from using the joint production budget to fund the creation expenses should the need arise.
So in English expression and in this case, it has to be over-translated IMHO to overcome the way the source Chinese expresses which is linguistically acceptable to hide the verb or the subject in a sentence, and for English readers to understand what it's all about. |
