而有些人做一些善行，也马上就被怀疑是另有不良动机甚至“阴谋”，或至少是“消费”和“炒作”。

一位哲学家在描绘中国的道德危机，说现在社会普遍持有怀疑态度，政府的信息都不相信，甚至私人的善事也会马上遇到否定和质疑。但这句话中，消费是什么意思？

Whenever someone acts with kindness or charity, there are immediate suspicions that they may have improper or even "ulterior" motives. At best, charity is seen as an attempt to achieve celebrity.

炒作应该是媒体炒作，我把它翻译成celebrity。

这个单词已经和消费 AS IN 消费者的原意完全脱离，变成了一个新词，或者说是一词多意。正如 just a second 和 your opinion is seconded.

根据很多网页，它已经变成了“利用”、滥用的同意词。

比如A说“。。。。。。”， 或者A干了什么事， B 说“你在消费我吧？”
这样的句子完全成立，你能说它和传统的消费有任何关系吗？

讨论中所举的诈捐的例子，和借慈善名义搞销售，都不是为了逃税，前者是为了名气，后者是为了多卖产品。很简单，前者能骗过社会大众，但不可能骗过税务局。骗税务局就势必要伪造接受单位的文件，这是犯罪行为，已经不是所谓消费的范畴了。后者是假借慈善之名多赚一些利润，说到底就是在“利用”慈善，和消费的原意没有任何关系。
