Hi, I need to know how to translate this word when it refers to switches controls of various types that are installed and connected during household wiring, if you see what I mean: is there a general word for these (e.g. light swtiches, a control for opening blinds, timer switch, dimmer switch...).
This is a catalogue of switches.
Thanks
Evan

Asker: Thanks very much, Stuart - that sounds good. I am also intrigued to know if you know the difference between the following two types of "device" that can be mounted: spínače, ovládače and přepínače? Or maybe I should ask another 3 KudoZ questions...?

Asker: Thanks Stuart, it seems you know your switch stuff :-)

Dear Evan, I think that spínače and přepínače are also kinds of lighting controls = lighting control elements... But the final decision is up to you, of course! Have a nice day!

Asker: Thanks Hana, but somme of these přístroje are ovládače, and others are spínače and přepínače: any suggestions :-) ??
