neutral  jankaisler: there is a difference between "neúčinný" and "neplatný"

  -> Yes Jan but "null and void" is what we say in this context. I also refer you to Wikipedia "In law, void means of no legal effect." - frankly if you are going to give something a "neutral" then you have really got to know what you are talking about

agree  Petr Skocik: Agreed. Context is what this is all about. Neúčinný normally means either inefficient or ineffective (or even both), but in this context, it essentially means that a court of law would hold the provision to be invalid/null and void/unenforcable.
