conscription duty


Explanation:
As opposed to "military service" which would mean the person actually being actively serving a better term to use is "conscription duty" as that only refers to the duty to report and be examined. Once not found fit for duty they were discharged BEFORE serving. If they were already active and then discharged from it I would use "Military service".
