neutral  Hannah Geiger (X): I very much agree that it is intended in the sense of 'why he of all the people' IMHO this popular phrase 'why him' is just being understood as such. I think that your 'just' might also be 'only' which does not appear to be the case in th source lang.

I would stay close to the source text and use "Oh no" rather than bringing God into it. You can say "Oh no, why him?" or split it into "Oh no! Why him?" to put more emphasis on the "zrovna".
