maybe somebody could help me make this sound nice...don't know if it has any precedence in the Church, or if it was a one-time utterance by the late great Pope John Paul II.

thanks very much to all......I feel fine with this choice...Joseph was the father of the Holy Family, the epitomy of the stable, protective father figure...thus this fits just fine. agree  Melissa Dedina: This is what I thought of first, too. It's not a literal translation obviously, but it's definitely the standard formula, which I think is more important in this case.

Starat se - it can be translated in many ways, but I believe that 'fending for' or 'taking care of' is the closest translation and 'fending for' sounds the best.
