Danish term or phrase: interessentselskab I/S
If a company is named "I/S Dansk Virksomhed" for example, is there any equivalent acronym in English for the "I/S" which is "interessentselskab"? I explained to the client that this is a type of "corporate partnership" without any liability limits, but they still want to know what the equivalent British acronym would be. Any ideas? I would not use "LLP" because that implies a limit to the liability with an "I/S" doesn't specify.

UK: General or Ordinary Partnership > & Co. vs. & Co.. Ltd.
Explanation:
The label of partnership, as in the first web ref., isn't enough and is inaccurate.

In the UK, gen. or ord. partnerships are governed by ancient Partnership Act legislation , different BrE: to AmE: than Limited Partnership Act partnerships that, in their turn, are different to or than LLPs - a hybrid of limited partnerships and limited companies > US: corporations.

BTW, & Co. is a traditional misnomer for a partnership - I used to work for one - as it is strictly not a company unles incorporated as an & Co. Ltd.

Thanks for the explanation. I am going to recommend that they leave I/S, but the closest abbreviation would be "Co. Ltd."
