In a report about knowledge society, etc. Context: "Minimaal zijn vier overlappende beelden te onderscheiden:
- De producerende kennissamenleving
- De samenhangende kennissamenleving
- De argumenterende kennissamenleving
- De lerende kennissamenleving"

I'm a bit stuck on 'argumenterende samenleving' (I'm currently leaning towards 'rational'). Does anyone have any suggestions? All input appreciated!

Voorzitter, mijn fractie denkt dat het in het debat over inburgering en immigratie ook gaat om deze argumenterende kennissamenleving.
Kennis als middel om los te komen van de puur emotionele redeneringen, van de onderbuik en van de tegeltjeswijsheden."

Particularly where she says "los te komen van de puur emotionele redeneringen ..." suggests to me that "rational" may well be the way to go.
