Dutch term or phrase: Aaswet
This is about ´Eten of gegeten worden´. In other words, the ´Aaswet´. Who knows the English translation of both ´Aaswet´ and ´Eten of gegeten worden´?
I have found ´Eat or be eaten´, is that right?

Thanks for your help

agree  bertvandermoer: this the law of the foodchain (acrtually that would be: eat and be eaten). Law of the jungle comes fairly close.

predator principle

Explanation:
Judging by the google hits, 'aaswet' is not an especially common term in Dutch -- it strikes me as one of those terms that teachers coin to attract and focus the attention of students. 'Predator principle' is IMO equally artificial, but if the subject is literally 'eat or be eaten'. it would work.

Otherwise, for a relatively well educated audience there's 'nature red in tooth and claw', but that's better as a translation of 'eat or be eaten' than 'aaswet'.

Just kidding, of course, but the ref. may be of some use.
