start-up films Explanation: After the Transmitters In Service caption for a short time in the mid 70s, possibly 1974, ATV used a start-up film. Neil Page remembers that the film was from the point of view of some birds in flight, accompanied by some music called "Odyssey" (and not "Life is a Beautiful Book" as previously stated). http://www.sub-tv.co.uk/atvstartups.asp I think the best thing about the regional logos were (sad to say it like that) all different, and good in their own way. I'd obviously say Westward's logo was great (being from Devon) and the start-up films were impressive for their time. The TSW logo was very good and interesting. The other logo's I like are the Central, Meridian and Border, and Yorkshire ones. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=283131 The illuminated Granada TV sign was seen in many local promotions for the region including for many years in “start-up” films, which launched Granada’s broadcasting service every morning until the 1980s. http://www.atvnewsnetwork.co.uk/today/index.php/atv-today/40... |
