Van Dale gives "roll", but from my experience I know that they are soft bread roles, mostly white as I can remember, but you don't have to qualify this. It has a slightly uplong shape, so it does not look like a bap (which is round). I think you can't go far wrong with soft roll.

Explanation:
In Scotland these are called finger rolls. There may be another name for them in other countries/regions. The Dutch punt or puntje is a soft oblong roll made of the same type of dough as a normal soft roll. It is not crusty like a french stick or sub sandwich roll. Rather like a frankfurter roll but a bit tubbier

They are made in both white and brown varieties and sometimes they have breadcrumbs sprinkled on as decoration (gepaneerd puntjes)
