Dutch term or phrase: op band zetten
A belated Happy New Year to you all!

I am currently translating a short memo for a manufacturer of fastening systems, and am struggling with the above phrase.

The context is as follows:

"De productieketen laat zich op hoofdlijnen in een aantal fases onderscheiden. De eerste stap in het productieproces begint bij het draadtrekken uit de ruwe grondstof, vervolgens wordt een deel van het getrokken draad gegalvaniseerd. Hierna is het draad geschikt voor de productie van spijkers en het op band zetten voor de productie van de nieten, brads en pins."

Many thanks,

agree  Jack den Haan: With 'conveyor belt production', although I think 'belt mounting' might be a good literal translation.

mass production

Explanation:
I don't think the source text is very well phrased, so you have to be flexible here. To give a solution for the whole sentence, I would translate it as: "The wire is then ready for the mass production of nails, staples, brads or pins."
