Where Engine Lubrication Begins

The process of lubrication in an internal combustion engine begins in the sump, commonly referred to as the oil pan

Oil is pumped through passageways to the various components of the engine such as the cam, main bearings, rod, pistons, etc. Gravity then pulls the oil back down to the bottom of the motor to drain back into the sump, and the cycle repeats.

Klopt maar dan zou dat handmatig door een persoon moeten gebeuren (na het onderdeel gedemonteerd te hebben). Als het onderdeel IN een ander onderdeel zit, heb je het over "lubrication"...

Lubricating system

The oiling system addresses the need to properly lubricate an engine when it’s running. ... you will see that the "grease pump" is here the top part (i.e. the actual pump), and the "container" is the drum/tank.

Domain: .jp. Most likely this is not a reliable translation. There are only about 40 ghits for this named pump, while you see a lot of these pumps under "grease pump" (the buckets), which is what it is.

Since OP minimal context is that of "vervangen" of this pump, it either means the entire bucket/grease pump is replaced, which makes it just a grease pump, or the pump is part of an engine, in which case it is an oil pump.

there are so many variations on a generic oil/grease pump/dispenser:

Depends on your context. What is your exact context?

Because it says "oliesmeerpomp", rather than e.g. just "oliepomp", it sounds like it refers to one of those hand-operated ones.
