I don't think we have any way of knowing exactly what a jaarlaag is, as it's probably internal terminology. It could be the year the property was built, or the year the investment was made. It may not mean anything to you or me, but it probably will to the customer.

One of your references translates it as "year". The context is different, a group of schoolchildren, but I think it works here too.

Thanks Phil. In the end I just went with "year". Must admit I didn't ask the client in a translator's note, as I had a long weekend w/ my baby and wife to plan ;-)
