spondylosis with bony spur formation
Explanation:
Significant spondylosis with bony spur formation

spondylartrose = wervelslijtage

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spondylosis

Cervical spondylosis is a chronic degenerative condition of the cervical spine that affects the vertebral bodies and intervertebral disks of the neck (in the form of, for example, disk herniation and spur formation), as well as the contents of the spinal canal (nerve roots and/or spinal cord). Some authors also include the degenerative changes in the facet joints, longitudinal ligaments, and ligamentum flavum.

Spondylosis progresses with age and often develops at multiple interspaces. Chronic cervical degeneration is the most common cause of progressive spinal cord and nerve root compression. Spondylotic changes can result in stenosis of the spinal canal, lateral recess, and foramina. Spinal canal stenosis can lead to myelopathy, whereas the latter 2 can cause radiculopathy. Inleiding

Significant spondylosis/spondylarthrosis with bony spur formation

Or:

Spondylosis/spondylarthrosis with significant bony spur formation

Cervical Spondylarthrosis
As it runs from the brain down the back, the spinal cord is protected by bones, the vertebrae, and shock absorbers, discs, made up of a tough, fibrous outer layer with an inner core of elastic tissue. During a lifetime we generally lose 20 mm of length due to shrinking of the discs in the spine.

Spondylosis or spondylarthrosis is the general term for this progressive loss of the normal stability of spinal discs, or disc degeneration. All of these pathologies can result in narrowing, stenosis of the nerve foramina or the spinal canal. Compression of the spinal cord, spinal stenosis, can develop difficulty with walking and loss of hand function, myelopathy. You may experience leg numbness and an inability to make the legs move properly, cramping, muscle spasms, and easy fatigueability. Other symptoms, radiculopathy, can include clumsiness and weakness in the hands, difficulty in fine activities such as buttoning clothes or writing. The hands may feel cold or diffusely painful.

Vertebral spurring is the development of bone spurs on the vertebrae. Bone spurs, also called osteophytes, are bony protrusions that develop along the edges of bones. Osteophytes can develop on any bone, but most often form in joints, where bones meet. Vertebral spurring occurs when the protrusions develop along the edges of the vertebrae, the individual bones that make up the spine.

Osteophytes, commonly referred to as bone spurs or parrot beak, are bony projections that form along joint margins.

Osteophytes form naturally on the back of the spine as a person ages and are a sign of degeneration in the spine. In this case, the spurs are not the source of back pains, but instead are the common symptom of a deeper problem. However, bone spurs on the spine can impinge on nerves that leave the spine for other parts of the body.

In plain English: A left convex scoliosis is present, the radiologist got it wrong! That should read RIGHT convex, but never mind, we all make mistakes now and then, and in medicine it's usually not important whether right or left. In Chiropractic it's vital. Six lumbar type vertebrae are visible. Five is the norm. Degenerative disc disease is present at the L5 L6 joint and to a lesser extent at L4 L5 and L3 L4. Hook shaped osteophytes, spondylosis, especially at the L3 L4 joint left. No loss of height of the vertebral bodies. Facet arthrosis in the lower lumbar paravertebral joints.
