Aus einem Roman. Hier wird der Besitzer des Raddampfers beschrieben. Ich finde hier einfach keine Entsprechechung für "sierlijk". Hat jemand eine Idee?

De diepe groeven in zijn gelaat en de vele scheuren in de plankieren wijzen op een **sierlijk** maar onverbiddelijk verval.

wäre das was? ich nehme an, dass damit gemeint ist, dass der verfall nicht unästhetisch war - bei schiff und schiffsbesitzer. aber im holländischen klingt es auch sehr poetisch (um nicht zu sagen: weit hergeholt).
