"Dit mag gelden als een oproep aan westerse klassiek archeologen om niet te vervreemden van en zich te blijven bemoeien met het beheer van het archeologisch bestand op Italiaanse of Griekse bodem. Ik deel deze mening, zeker ook omdat ik zoals iedereen weet dat de bedreiging van het bodemarchief groot is en maatregelen urgent zijn."

Secondo Wikipedia: "Het bodemarchief is in de archeologie een begrip waarmee bedoeld wordt de sporen van (vooral) menselijke bewoning en bewerking die in de bodem zijn achtergebleven en die nog in onverstoorde toestand verkeren (er is naderhand niet in die bodemlagen gegraven of geploegd, waardoor veel sporen verwoest zijn en de rest door elkaar is komen te liggen)."

Purtroppo non riesco a trovare un traducente italiano (e per la verità neppure inglese o francese: ho trovato "soil archive" ma in contesti meno specifici).

Nella trad. di un doc ufficiale del PE viene tradotto semplicemente con "sottosuolo" (cfr. link, cerca "bodemarchief" e corrispondente rigo nella versione IT).

Nel tuo caso questa soluzione non mi convince del tutto.
Aggiungerei qualcosa, del tipo "patrimonio archeologico nel sottosuolo" o simili. Solo una proposta...

Explanation:
Nella trad. di un doc ufficiale del PE viene tradotto semplicemente con "sottosuolo" (cfr. link, cerca "bodemarchief" e corrispondente rigo nella versione IT).

Nel tuo caso questa soluzione non mi convince del tutto.
