English term or phrase: Baltic countries
Is there a single Albanian word for the three countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania? -- I am proofreading a translation from Swedish to Albanian, where the translator used the Swedish (Latin) term Baltikum for this group of countries. But I can't find it anywhere in Albanian texts on the Internet, so I would say it is wrong. What's your opinion, dear colleagues? -- Also, the term Baltiku is used, but this has to be the Baltic Sea, doesn't it?

  -> Falenderoj.

agree  Gentiana Kasemi: Nje sugjerim i vogel: me kujtohet (nga gjeografia) qe e shkruanim: "Balltike", pra me dy "ll".

  -> Të falenderoj Gentiana, edhe mua më vajti mëndja se mos shkruhej me "ll" por Fjalori drejtshkrimor thotë "Baltik, -u".

agree  Blerta Alikaj: Yeah it was spelled with a "ll" in our Geography Textbooks (1989)

  -> Falenderoj Blerta. Besoj se ashtu ka qenë shkruar në librin e gjeografisë megjithatë unë iu përmbajta variantit që jep Fjalori Drejtshkrimor (kam botimin e 1976... mbase ka ardhur koha për ta rishikuar..)

  -> Ju falenderoj për komentin. E dij se "ll" p.sh. para "t" përdoret posacërisht në gjuhët sllave. Pikërisht thuhet "Baltičke zemlje" (lexo: Balltiçke zemle).

agree  vetime: Shtete baltike - bëhet fjala për gjuhën shqipe e jo sllave, pra me "l"
