literature is just a collection of ANY literary works: a collection of books, a collection of novels, a collection of poems or a collection of articles or dissertations. So books from 10 writers are literature. And books from 240 writers are also literature. A mix of 35 books/novels, plus 87 poetry books, plus 3 short stories are also called together literature. Literature can have artistic styles, but that doesn't change the main word, literature itself. Literature in my opinion is not science and it's not an art. It's a common term for different written products.

Now in my case exactly for the above reasons I want to break the title Literature later down into several subsections on my website. So there will be other titles under Literature like Books, Articles, Poems, etc. So in THIS sense which word is the best?

I don't quite see the difference, because in my opinion literature is a collective term for certain literary works. If you study American Literature in high school, that may be the subject of the class, which you're studying, but a subject is just a name for the class, while literature is still the same word. So when you study American Literature, you're not studying any art form. You're studying the works of several American writers, playwrights, poets, basically authors of certain books. You're studying their books or their poems. You're studying/reading, what they wrote. Of course, there could be a class/course in any school, where they teach literary techniques from American or whatever literature, but in that case the professors derived some conclusions from the given area/country of literature, so they're teaching their conclusions, their observations as science. Therefore you could call it not literature, but rather the science of literature or literary science. However, that's an abstract generalization, because not all American writers or poets write the same way. Only a professor wants to believe/teach, that there's a unique American way, because he wants to keep his job.

I wrote above, that I don't speak any Albanian at all and when I filled out the KudoZ form, I requested English explanations. So sorry, but I didn't understand any of your explanation, what you wrote in Albanian. Could you repost that in English?

I need the word for "literature" in general as a collective expression, which could be subdivided into articles, magazines, books, poetry, essays, documentaries and so on. This word will be a title on my website and I will have several subtitles under it: Articles, Books, etc.
