I am looking for an Albanian word for the psychological process that makes you deny, subconsciously/subliminally, something that you can't even stand to think of.

I don't know really if the correct English term is repression - it appears at Linguee.com in this context: >>You know, of course, to beware joy if it stems from repression or denial, because fake joy can make you lose all grip on reality and can then lead to political depression.

agree  Mirela Lluka: represion and ndrydh are both used but represion is not an Albanian word, rather it is an adopted one.

  -> Indeed, particularly when used in a text that is to be consumed by the masses. "Represion" and its derivatives, i.e. "represuar", "represoj", are just too unnatural although "represion" is viewed to be academically acceptable.
