Explanation: A small cut of meat, especially ham, from the front or hind leg directly above the foot. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 27 days (2010-10-07 19:17:45 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- سألت الجزار فقال لى: موزة -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 75 days (2010-11-24 18:32:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- first of all, in all dictionaries i found this translation for hock. I understand "from the front or hind leg" as all four legs. It actually makes sense, because you can find the "piece of meat" at the back of the leg. However, when i went to the butcher he didn't understand عرقوب. He only asked: under or above the knee? So i believe that موزة would be more comprehensive. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 76 days (2010-11-25 09:28:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Well, i believe you can. http://www.google.com.eg/search?hl=&q=لحم الموزة &sourceid=n... لحم الموزة is used very often. You can still use the dictionary's 'right' answer above, but i am not sure the spectator will understand. Good luck! |
