Explanation: This might be a little too technical for the context. A descriptive alternative: أثر توقف الاكتساب أثر انقطاع الاكتساب -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2020-09-22 15:42:34 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Yes, I understand; there is a slight conflict between the text and the purely technical definition of a plateau effect. For a looser explanation to bring them together, I would use شبه توقف or شبه انقطاع. I personally would use اكتساب because that’s what a learning curve (which a plateau is an element of) describes. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs (2020-09-22 16:30:38 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- If the context is linguistics, then yes, you’re absolutely correct. You’re welcome. |

-------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 hrs (2020-09-23 06:37:28 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It seems to me that some are thinking of the meaning نكص as if it means "to return back". Well, this is not the exact meaning of the word. The definition of the word from an Arabic dictionary illustrates my point. "النُّكُوصُ: الإِحْجامُ والانْقِداعُ عن الشيء, i.e. "sb stops from doing sm". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNTPetbB_Yc&ab_channel=BobSullivanvideos |
